Recording by schedule lets you set when and how to record, and what to do when an event occurs. When not recording on a schedule a camera is recorded 24/7, all frames being received make it to the recording, and no actions are performed at events other than adding an event record into the recording file.
To record by schedule, set it to yes. There are two schedules available: the primary and the secondary. The schedule in force is selected at the System, Schedule panel.
Set schedule operation to a) when to record. Select it from the menu list if it is not already the selected operation. Presented are 24 slots for each of the days of the week. To not record on that day at that hour set the slot to 0.To quickly fill out fields that have repeat values, fill out a field (in the editbox) up to the value that repeats for the rest of that day, and Accept. For example, to change Sunday to not record, select the Sun field (touch anywhere in the field with Sunday's values). The current Sun contents - all ones - is copied to the editbox. Ctrl-A or Shift-End to select the old contents. Press DEL to delete the selected text. At the now empty editbox, type 0, then press Accept. Sunday now has 24 slots of 0. Repeat for Saturday. Save. After saving any changes made to a) when to record, switch to b) how to record.
How to record offers five choices for each hour of the day, for each day of the week. No write (0) is effectively the same as not recording that hour. Write max. (1) writes all frames received from the camera to the recording. Write min. (2) writes only I-frames, or for JPEG streams one frame per second. Write event only (3) writes only when an event occurs, writing all frames received from the camera over the period defined by the pre-event seconds and the expire event seconds from the Cam setup Record panel. Write event plus min. (4) combines writing all frames during and event period plus I-frames outside the event period.
Select c) action on event. Here you set what actions to perform when an event occurs during a scheduled recording, for each hour of the day, for each day of the week. Up to four separate event-actions can be performed at each processed event from this camera.
Event actions are defined in the Cam setup, Evt-actions panel. Each event action has a row value: row 1 has a value 1, row 2 has a value 2, row 3 has a value 4, and row 4 has a value 8.
If four event actions are defined, and you want all four performed when an event is processed, the value to store in each hour slot is 15, the sum of the four rows' values (1+2+4+8).
If you want, for a particular hour slot on a particular day, to perform only one event action, for example the event-action in the first row, the value to store for that slot is 1. Similarly, if event-actions from the second and third rows should be performed, enter 6 (2+4) for that hour slot.
In the image below, the event performed on weekend events is the third event-action (row value of 4), defined in the Evt-actions panel. For this guide, that action is to send an e-mail. For weekdays, sending an e-mail (4) is combined with beeping the computer speaker (row value 1, +4 is 5). You can see these two actions in the Event-actions section of this guide.
If you want to set the other schedule, select Schedule 2 and set it as needed.
